BWSR approves Third Water Management Plan amendments
After a long review process, the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources has approved an amended Third Water Management Plan. Intially approved in 2011, the plan has been amended to include studies of District governance, strategic resources, and dredge materials management.
District reviewing developer requirements
In Oct. 2016, the District defined and clarified its regulatory standards. See Appendix P of the plan for details. Or consult Section 3 of the plan.

District amending Watershed Management Plan
In 2016, acting upon a recommendation from the Technical Advisory Committee, the District began the process to amend its Plan. A draft Plan Amendment was released July 5, 2017 for the 60-day comment period. The comment period was extended until September 20, 2017 after the LMRWD received a request for an extension. After the LMRWD issued its response to comments received, a public hearing was held October 25, 2017. The October public hearing was continued and reconvened on April 18, 2018. The Board approved the draft Plan Amendment at its May 2018 meeting and authorized submission of the Plan Amendment to the BWSR for the 90-day review. The state agencies received the 90-day review draft Plan Amendment Monday, July 2, 2018. The 90-day draft review documents can be found here.

This is the plan currently in force throughout the LMRWD. The District is preparing an amendment to the plan and expects to adopt the amendment later in 2018.
