Scott County Board of Managers Transition

2025 is bringing changes to the managing body of the watershed district. While one Board manager closed his service, another is joining to continue the organization’s work on protecting and improving the Lower Minnesota River Watershed District (LMRWD).
Janet Williams appointed to Board of Managers
Seamlessly filling the Board’s position for Scott County, Janet Williams is excited to join the Board of Managers. Manager Williams is no stranger to public service, having most recently served as the Mayor of the City of Savage for 17 years, where she successfully navigated dozens of partnerships with neighboring cities, while serving on committees and panels with Scott County, Metropolitan Council, and the League of Minnesota Cities. Her experience also includes 30 years as the Scott County Public Library Director and service to the Savage City Council for four years. As a lifelong resident of Savage, MN, she has been a Rotary Club member with her city for three decades. Manager Williams will use her extensive knowledge of Scott County and effective local governance to contribute to the direction of the Board of Managers. Welcome to the LMRWD Board, Janet!
Apollo Lammers closes his service to the Board of Managers
Representing Scott County, Manager Apollo Lammers focused his time on developing partnership opportunities, bluff and bank erosion, and flooding issues. Most recently he supported and attended the Minnesota River Public Listening Session on January 8, 2025, where he helped to integrate input received and turn it into actionable steps for the coming year. Thank you for your service, Manager Lammers!
About the LMRWD Board of Managers
The LMRWD is governed by a board of five managers appointed by the counties they represent. The managers receive recommendations from staff and advisory committees to make final decisions on the budget, programs, and projects. Each manager serves their community on a volunteer basis and their dedication benefits both the public and water and natural resources within the LMRWD.
Interested in making your own impact within the LMRWD? Monthly Board meetings are open to the public and community members are invited to attend. The Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) is also a great opportunity to volunteer and take an active role in watershed management.
