2023 Landscaping for Clean Water Workshops

Posted: 01/05/23

If you want to get a head start on planning your spring gardening projects and are concerned about the quality of local water resources, there are workshops just for you. Dakota County Soil and Water Conservation District will be offering Landscaping for Clean Water workshops in conjunction with the Lower Minnesota River Watershed District during the early spring and summer months. This is a unique opportunity to learn about gardening projects that beautify your yard and improve the water quality of ponds, lakes, rivers, and streams. The free introductory class is a prerequisite for participating in the Design Workshop, an in-person garden planning and design course. The workshop provides participants with step-by-step instructions for selecting a project location, determining the garden’s size and shape, and selecting the best plants for soils and sun. It also includes information on cost-share opportunities available to Dakota County residents. To register for classes and workshops, visit www.dakotaswcd.org.
